How it works
- Choose a photo or paste a screenshot.
- Drag a box over each thing you want to hide. Add as many areas as you need; Undo last area removes the most recent one.
- Pick an effect and strength (it applies to every area), then download.
Which effect should I use?
Solid box is the safest choice for text such as names, addresses, card or account numbers: the pixels underneath are replaced with black, so nothing can be recovered. Pixelate (mosaic) and blur look softer and suit faces and backgrounds, but at low strength short text can sometimes still be guessed, so use a high strength or a solid box for anything sensitive.
Your photo stays on your device
Everything is drawn with the Canvas API in your own browser, and this page's security policy stops it from sending data to any server. The downloaded file is a fresh image, so it also leaves out the original's EXIF data such as GPS location. To double-check a photo's metadata, use Remove EXIF; to cut away an edge instead of hiding it, use Crop & rotate.
Questions
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Drag with your finger on the image to draw each box.
Can I use a different effect for each area?
Not yet: the effect and strength apply to all areas. Download once, then open the result again to add a second effect.
Why is PNG the default format?
Screenshots stay sharp as PNG. For camera photos, JPG gives a much smaller file.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, watermark or limit.
