How to split a PDF
- Choose or drop your PDF file.
- Pick how to split it: every page, every N pages, or your own ranges.
- Click Split PDF. Several files download together as one ZIP.
Custom ranges
Separate the files you want with commas. 1-3, 4-6, 7- makes three PDFs: pages 1 to 3, pages 4 to 6, and page 7 to the end. 2, 5 makes two one-page PDFs. Inside one file you can also reverse the order with 3-1. Each file is named after the original with its pages, like report-p1-3.pdf.
No quality loss
The pages are copied into the new files as they are, with the same text, fonts, images and links. Nothing is re-rendered or compressed, so text stays sharp, selectable and searchable. Title, author and software details from the original file are not copied.
Private by design
Bank statements, contracts, IDs and medical records are exactly the kind of PDFs people need to split, and exactly the kind they shouldn't upload. This page reads and writes the PDF with JavaScript in your browser, and its security policy stops it from sending data to any server. There's no account, no watermark and no file limit.
Questions
Why won't my PDF open here?
Password-protected (encrypted) PDFs can't be split. Open the file in a PDF reader with its password and save or print an unprotected copy first, if you're allowed to. The tool tries to repair a damaged file index automatically.
How do I pull out just a few pages into one file?
Use Merge PDF with only this file added, and type the pages you want, like 1-3, 5. That gives one PDF with just those pages.
Are bookmarks and forms kept?
Page content, links and comments are kept. Bookmarks (the outline sidebar) are not carried over, and fillable form fields stay visible but may no longer be editable.
Can I split scanned images?
Yes. A scanned PDF is split like any other. To turn photos into a PDF first, use JPG to PDF.
